SHARING A FLAT

Next year most of us are leaving the island because of our studies and we'll have to take a decision: share a flat or go to a residence hall? Let’s see the perks and drawbacks that each option has.

Some argue that sharing a flat prepares you for real life. It helps you to become more independent because you have to do all housework on your own. But we must look at both sides of it, because you’ll have less free time. Moreover if the cohabitation is not good it can  be hell. However, another good point is that sharing a flat is usually cheaper.

Living in a residence could be another good option. You don’t have to do as much housework as if you are in a flat, and due to this, you can devote more time to your studies or your leisure activities. It’s also more peaceful but it’s a fact that you may feel a little bit lonely. In addition, living in a residence can be more expensive than sharing a flat.

To sum up, both options have their pros and cons and it depends a lot on your personality, your behaviour and what you can afford. However, there’s no place like home, for sure.
