Years ago, most people used physical violence to punish their children. However, nowadays a lot of people defend not to smack children or people in general.
Firstly, if you smack your children you are teaching them that all the things that aren't like you want, can be solved with violence. Secondly, these physical punishments can cause a lot of psychological problems to the children. Problems like depressions, or other health problems that then have a very difficult recovery. Nevertheless, sometimes some children that are bad-mannered or have a difficult character, once and again have to be smacked to be warned that they aren't acting well.
To sum up, smacking is sometimes good to alert the children, but physical violence is not the only and the most effective option. You have other alternatives like the punishments without videogames, or mobile phones.

TO SMACK IS NOT AN OPTION
Normally, children’s behaviour is not appropriate because they do what they want without thinking about the consequences of their actions. This is when parents participate in their children’s education with psychological or polemical corporal punishments. In my opinion, smacking should be banned.
Firstly, children get wrong very often due to their youth and many times they learn from their mistakes by themselves, that’s why smacking them for every mistake is too abusive. In addition, hitting a person frequently can harm either the body or the mind, and cause several problems as well as encourage children to use violence to solve any situation.
Secondly, there are alternative punishments which are more useful than smacking, for example to leave a child without his favourite hobby and order him to stay at home, it makes the child wonder about the bad things he has done in order not to repeat it again.
In conclusion, to smack damages the integrity of the person, so it is not an option to improve the children’s behaviour, parents have to use other ways to educate their children.
