ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SHARING A FLAT

Most teenagers, who have to leave their houses so as to be close to their universities, have to choose between living in a flat or in a hall of residence.

On the one hand, living in a flat gives more independence and autonomy to students because they haven’t got a timetable to be at home. Also they mature sooner than other students due to all the housework they do such as clean, wash and cook. Furthermore, living in a flat with more than one housemate can be helpful to save money.

On the other hand, living in a hall of residence is usually the best option for students’ parents because their children are more controlled than in a flat. Even though a residence is usually more expensive than a flat, it lets students know and learn things from different people and increase their global vision of the world.

To sum up I believe that living in a hall of residence can be useful to learn by yourself and from the others. But it is known that the final choice depends on the parents.
