Advantages and disadvantages of sharing a flat with other students

Nowadays, the most economical and common thing to do when people go to university is share a flat. However, sharing a flat with other people, whether you know them or not, can have some advantages or disadvantages.

On the one hand, you can normally choose your flatmates and  the decoration of your room or flat. Moreover, you are totally free, you don’t have to follow strict rules and you can do whatever you want whenever you want. In addition, you can help each other with university stuff and you can also understand one another well because you are the same age.

On the other hand, some flatmates can be annoying sometimes and, for example, if you have an exam but they don’t, maybe they could disturb you. Furthermore, your flatmates could invite people you don’t get on well with without asking you.

To sum up, I think that sharing a flat is the best option for students but there should be some rules accepted by everyone who lives in that flat so that there wouldn’t be so many disagreements.
