Shopping in supermarkets

Nowadays, there are many more big supermarkets than a few years ago, while there are less and less small shops. People have got used to shopping in this kind of supermarkets instead of in the small ones.

First of all, the products are usually cheaper, as they buy them in big amounts and get a discount for it. Besides, you can find a lot of different brands of the items, so you can choose the cheapest one of all, or the best known one. In addition, since they have all kinds of goods, you can find whatever you are looking for, so it's possible to buy enough products in order not to have to go to other places (you can purchase it all in just one go).

On the other hand, having all kinds of stuff also means that the supermarket is not focused on just one or two aspects. Everything is generic, you can't find anything specific or really good. For instance, fruit from a fruit shop is always much better than the one you can find in the supermarket. Besides, in supermarkets there are always a lot of people, so it's uncomfortable and unconvenient if you don't have much time.

In conclusion, supermarkets are fine if you need to get something basic, like shampoo, cookies or soap. But, for things like fruit, vegetables or meat, it is always better to go to small shops, as their quality is better. As long as you keep that in mind, you'll be able to get the best products from both places.
