Watch the video and try to answer the following questions:

  • Are these protesters angry or happy? Why?
  • Why are Spain's top parties thinking of changing the eviction law?
  • What is going to change if they reform the law?

  2. I'm agree with this suspend evictions because I consider that they were too demanding. I know the horrible economic crisis that our country is living and that there are lots of people who don't pay their mortgage but, in my opinión, the government has to stop and think the reasons of this. I have heard or seen in televisión lots of cases which disable people or Little children living in sad conditions and our politicians shouldn't permit this meanwhile they are winning too much money without doing something. Spain has a big problem with difficult solutions.

  3. I agree with what this new says. It's obviously that the situation of our country is very bad but this eviction law only has shown in which level of poverty loads of Spaniards live. They have lost their homes and it's really bleak living without a home. Where will they live? Under a brigde? Fortunately, the government has stop this law and maybe people won't suffer so much. However, what makes me get angry is that while our politicians live as a kings without economic problems and win high remunerations, the people have to see how a person through them out of their homes. What an injustice!! Spain's crisis is a reality, unemployment increases every day and the economic situation is very bad, but I can't see effective reforms that our politicians should implement. The situation is very difficult, I know, and it's not easy to arrange but if politicians don't fix it, who is going to do it?

  4. I'm agree with this because there are many people that they are suffering for various reasons, specially the evictions. All of us know the economic crisis and the consequences but the government isn't aware of this. Is this the reason whereby the politicals take the descisions thoughtlessly the people that they are passing bad or living in sad conditions.
In my opinion I think that there are many things that should change mainly the evictions because if there are people that are suffering as they can't pay the mortgage and the politicals take away the houses, they can die in the street for the poor living conditions.

  5. I'm agree with this video, because I think that this type of evictions are too much exigents, because at this moment in Spain there is an important economic crisis, and the government have to think about this and improve this law because there are many people who can't pay for their house, because they haven't got enough money dut to the unemployment, because in this moment the unemployment rate is very high in Spain. For that reason, and from my poin of view, the government have to do something rather than make money without doing anything for the country.

  6. I'm agree with news because I think on the one hand that the banks are very demanding with evictions, and knowing the situation they are living most of the Spanish people with this global economic crisis they should be more considerate of people. On the other hand,I think that the government should help people with financial difficulties to keep their home and not leave them aside.

  7. Everything that happens in Spain, because of the property bubble burst in 2008, meets reflected in these videoes and articles. But only a small part.
Some persons have committed suicide for the motive of having lost his house, of being evicted. Indeed have we had to come to this point of the suicide, in order that the politicians were realizing from what the citizens can manage to suffer for a eviction? So if!
For saying it this way, "thank you" to these suicides they have stopped the law of the eviction, that I cause so much suffering to many families. I agree with this freezing of law, since it is not just.

  8. I'm agree with what this video says. The level of evictions are incrissing in the last few months, it represent the situacion of most of the spanish population, represent the economic crisis and represent the fear of all the people that in this moment are losing everithing that they have been done during their life. It is true that people pay a mortgage and if you are mortgaged you always have to think all the consequense and manage your money as better as posible. I think that Spain has to reflect of this situacion and solve all this problems.

  9. I'm agree. I think the issue of evictions is a very delicate issue and it must look closely, the law has been very hard and I think you have to take action against evictions especially for people with difficulties. It is sad that society is poorly distributed, and see that a politician lives without any kind of problem, however there are thousands of families living with 300 euros a month and have nothing to eat. Unemployment and the poor state of the country is a reality, this measure may relieve the tension that society lives, but I think this should be the first step on a long road.

  10. I'm agree with this video. All of us know the crisi is happening to our country and evictions are one of the hardest consequences of the crisi. There are many people who can not pay their mortgages not because they don't want to but because unemployment and low pay they receive do not allow and knowing this situation the government should improve the law of evictions and adjust to these times.

  11. I am agree with the video because spanish people are sick of evictions. A lot of people are unemployment and can't pay their houses. Moreover, people have a mortgage to pay and a family to feed. Spain should has a reconsideration of his sistem.

  12. It is normal that people go to the street to celebrate this new because nowadays, there are a lot of people who don't have a job, and they have to pay their house, their car,..Some of them don't have enough money to buy food, and consequently, they can't pay the mortgade. The government has to be more conscious with these people and has to modificate the eviction's law because if these people are without a house, they don't have anything and some of them will commit suicide.

  13. I think that the people who can’t pay their house or rent should be evicted, but the government have to give more helps to these people, because is not logical that people who has been evicted, have to continue paying the house. The government have to change the law and make more helps like free houses where people can live while they haven’t anything to pay a house; more establishments where people can eat for free… And to pay all of this helps, the government should us the excess of salaries which is given to the politics.
