Do we know what getting a tatto or a piercing means?

Nowadays, tattoos and piercings have become a very controversial topic for main reasons like how old is enough. Getting a tattoo or a piercing is considered an art form, another way to show who you are or a stupidity.

On the one hand, having tattos or piercings is a different way to express your identity, to tell the story of a life. When someone decides to get a tatto performed is because at that moment of his life it is what he wants. People think that tattoos are a reminder of what they lived and what they felt, and today they don't have to be for the rest of your life.

On the other hand, getting tattos or piercings involves many unnecessary risks such as excessive bleeding, infections, keloids... We can't know what we'll want or how we'll be in the future, so later maybe you'll regret it. Also, don't forget that removal tattoos is very painful and expensive, and piercings can leave you scars.

Tattoos ans piercings trend.

Nowadays, it is very usual to see people with tattoos or piercings. Some people pierce any body parts, other get tattooed, and others both.

Firstly, some people get something important or something symbolic tattooed, like mum's name, grandpa's face... something like this. But not all people do this, other people get their boyfriend or girlfriend's name tattooed ,and then, they break up. When someone gets tattooed, they should be conscious about it, and they shouldn't regret it for the rest of their lifes.

On the other hand, piercings are popular, too. People pierce any body parts, like nipples, genitals, navels and other strange parts. Before that, they don't know anything about all risks they can produce. For this reason, they should go to a licensed facility.

In conclusion, people should be sure about get a tattoo and the parts they will pierce. Sometimes, they realize so late, and the only solution is a surgical correction.

What are your views on tattoos?

Nowadays, tattoos have become increasingly more common among society compared to previous years, not only among youth, but also adult people.

First of all, I think that tattoos cause more trouble than anything else because it is known that they can cause health problems, and also allergic reactions. The proof of that is that many federal governments insist that those who receive a tattoo must wait 6 months before they are allowed to donate blood, showing how uncertain governments are when it comes to tattoo safety.

In addition, removing a tattoo can be both expensive, painful, and also time consuming. The only way to remove it is by laser treatment or surgery, and this can only remove the 95% of a tattoo.

To sum up, I believe that having a visible tattoo is totally relevant when it comes to have a job, specially jobs where you have to treat people, because society in general still doesn't accept tattooed people.

SHOULD YOU GET A TATTOO?

DOES HAVING A VISIBLE TATTOO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT AN INDIVIDUAL THAT IS RELEVANT TO HIS OR HER JOB?_F

There are many stereotypes about people who have tattoos and they are not always true. Tattoos are easily associated to criminals, but you can find very nice people who have one. The fact that you have a tattoo has nothing to do with the kind of person you are. They are just an accessory.

However, in jobs where employers deal with public directly ,a tattoo can be annoying for some of the customers. Furthermore, the image you offer is extremely important for companies because the first impresion says a lot about them.

To sum up, tattoos can't be related to certain kind of people and used to judge them. Nevertheless, for some jobs it is necessary to look well and a tattoo doesn't offer a pleasant image in most cases.

Are tatoo and piercings good idea?

Nowadays, teenagers search how to be different and what they have to do to stand out. They think that tattoos or piercings are the solution to their problem. Should parents let their children get a body piercing or tattoo if they were not yet 18?

One the one hand, if teenagers couldn’t get a body piercing or tattoo they wouldn’t be like they want because there are teenagers who like the tattoos and piercings. Also, the tattoos shops would lose the majority of their customers.

One the other hand, teenagers wouldn’t be seen like hooligans if they wore a tattoo or a piercing. In addition, lots of parents would be more comfortable with their children’s body.

In my opinion, teenagers must be able to get a body piercing because it’s something that you can remove if you want. But I don’t agree with tattoos in teenagers because usually a young boy doesn’t think of the consequences of getting a tattoo.

Body Decoration

In the last few decades more and more people are getting tattoos and piercings on their bodies, basically it is a fashion which maybe will go out of style or not. Nowadays you can see teenagers with tattoos and piercings and surely these teenagers didn't get the approval of their parents.

On the one hand, tattoos and piercings decorate your bodies and many people think that it is beautiful and cool. Also, with a tattoo you can hide a birthmark that you don't like.

On the other hand, tattoos or piercing can make serious infections. Another disadvantage is that actually, many companies don't contract workers with tattoos on their body for the image that they will give to the customers.

In conclusion, I think that body decoration is an interesting art and I like it, but you have to take precautions so as not to get infections and other complications.

Why we make tattoos?

Nowadays it’s very popular to have either tattoos or piercings because they are a trend. Should parents let their children have body decoration?

On the one hand, tattoos are positive as they can express thoughts. Nowadays it’s easy to find a person with a tattoo; it’s very modern, especially for teenagers and adults. A lot of people prefer coloured tattoos more than black tattoos, because it makes it more colourful and beautiful. The coloured tattoos demand a lot more attention because they are different. The reason why teenagers want to get tattoos or piercings is because they are the new trend and a lot of famous people have tattoos making them more desirable.

On the other hand, tattoos and piercings can be addictive besides, they can cause infections on the skin or other parts of the body. After being tattooed, for the first three/four months you cannot donate blood. Moreover, having tattoos can be harmful in terms of getting a job.

I personally think that parents shouldn’t allow their children to have piercings because I think they are dangerous and do not look professional.

BODY DECORATION BEFORE 18?

Getting a tattoo or a piercing is something very usual nowadays, but the problem is that teenagers are starting to get their first tattoo or piercing at an earlier age.

On the one hand, we all have the right to decide what we want to do with our body and getting a tattoo or a piercing is a way to express ourselves. But on the other hand, getting a tattoo or a piercing when you are not 18 yet means that your parents have given their assent and that they are becoming responsible for what you do with your body. That also means that if in the future you regret what you have done with your body, you will probably blame your parents because they let you get that tattoo or piercing that now you don’t want.

In conclusion, I think that getting a tattoo or a piercing if you are not 18 is not a good idea because you are too young to decide if it’s really worth it.

Are tattoos good for us?

Nowadays, people express many different reasons for getting various forms of body decoration. Some of them are a personal way of expression, while others decide to decorate their bodies as a way of commemorating an important fact in their lives.

Supporters of tattoos say that a tattoo can express your personality and your beliefs. Apart from a good or bad design, tattoos can also be a great reminder of someone or something. Another use of tattoos is that they can efficiently cover scars, which are made by an accident or an extended surgery.

Opponents of tattoos say that getting a tattoo may involve some health risks because many people get their tattoos outside of a professional studio, and this means that the possibility to get dangerous diseases is higher. Another negative point of view, is that tattoos can have a negative impact when you try to obtain a job. Even if you choose one of the removal processes, you will still have a scar there.

In conclusion, these are the main pros and cons of getting a tattoo. In my own opinion, they allow you to express yourself in a very original way. On the other  hand, they can have a negative impact on your life.

Piercings and tattoos should be watched by parents

Are tattoos good or bad?

There is no doubt that tattoos are in fashion, especially in teenagers. Many people have their body completely covered with these trends. However, is this fact good or bad for your health? As far as I’m concerned, tattoos have a lot of disadvantages.

First of all, getting a tattoo is very painful because a needle penetrates your skin. Besides, having a coloured and larger tattoo may take more than six hours. Secondly, the tattoo could become infected and the needle could transmit many diseases, for instance AIDS. Furthermore, tattoos could be bad to get a job. Many companies don’t accept workers with tattoos, especially if they work in direct contact with the public. Last but not least, having a tattoo removed is expensive and may not always be possible.

In conclusion , I think that having a tattoo is a foolish idea. For many people, tattooing is an art but I believe that art shouldn’t involve suffering.

Parents shouldn’t let their children get a body piercing or tattoo if they were not yet 18

Nowadays there are many teenagers who have body piercings or tattoos, and their parents allow them to do it. But I have to say that piercings are not the same as tattoos, piercings don’t have to last forever and tattoos do.

I think that parents should let their children get a body piercing if they are fifteen or older. At this age they can think and can be liable to do what they want with their bodies. Moreover in the future if they don’t want to have piercings they can take them off.

On the other hand, in the case of tattoos, I think that parents shouldn’t let their children get a tattoo, because it lasts forever and it’s something that you like when you are young but you can hate when you are older. Because of that I think that parents shouldn’t let their children get a tattoo if they are not 17 or are not very conscious of the tattoo’s permanence.

In conclusion, parents should let their children get a piercing because it doesn’t have to last forever but shouldn’t let their children get tattoos if they are not mature enough.

TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS WITHOUT 18?

Nowadays tattoos and piercings are in fashion. Not only adults and old people have tattoos and piercings but also teenagers are punctured and tattooed.

On the one hand, we think that it’s cool to have a piercing or tattoo, for this reason teenagers want to have one. There is a positive thing with piercings since if you don’t like them, over the years you could take them off. It’s beautiful to decorate your body with things that have marked your life, as well.

On the other hand, we have to know that to have a piercing could have consequences for our body. Piercing could cause a serious and dangerous infection and it is bad for your health. Also we have to be sure when we are tattooed because a tattoo is something that you always have in your body.

In conclusion, parents shouldn’t let their child be tattooed if they aren’t 18 but they should let their child be punctured because piercings are different as you can take them off whenever you want.
                                                                                                                             Ana Losa 2A 174 words

THE PIERCING'S BUSINESS

Nowadays we all have a lot of ways to customize our body, such as tattoos or piercings, that can be accepted or frowned upon by the rest of people. Whenever you want you can get a piercing or some, only paying.
Firstly it’s important to remember that we’re free, we can customize our body as we want, taking care of the risks, of course. Furthermore, in some places like South Africa piercings are considered art and culture, so we have to respect them.

On the other hand, there are many people against piercings, because they might be dangerous depending on where they are, for example in the mouth, or in the genitals, and rarely in the eyes… You have to keep it impeccable to avoid infections. Anyway, there are people who abuse and get too many piercings.

To end up, I’d like to say that piercings aren’t necessary unless if it’s culture, aesthetic prevails in our society and it’s normal to see some tattooed people, or with piercings. I think that’s not a bad idea to wear piercings, but we shouldn’t abuse, because it’s dangerous, and also ugly.

Parents shouldn't let their children get a body piercing or tattoo if they were not yet 18

Nowadays getting a tattoo or a piercing is easier even if you don't have the legal age for getting one. Moreover, parents are allowing their children to get one. We have a question to answer: Should teens have to wait untill 18 or get parental consent to get tattooed and/or pierced?

On the one hand, when you get tattooed or pierced you feel modern, cool, fashionable and more other adjectives that describe
the modern society. Furthermore, among your friends you are the one who is cooler than the others and that gives you the power of feeling superior.

On the other hand, the cost of wearing tattoos or piercings is highly dangerous. First you need to know about tattoos or piercings and the infections you can get. Once you get infected, you need a treatment to take care of your body and your piercing or tattoo. And, what's more, We have to take into account the high cost
 of removing tattooes.

To sum up, would you allow  your children
to get a tattoo or a piercing to be cooler or feel superior among your friends being conscious of the consequences on costs removing or treating infections?

Mobile phones _F

Mobile phones are one of the most useful technological advances of our decades. They provide communication, work, entertainment… Personally, I think that mobile phones make our lives easier but, apart from being fantastic, they can also be annoying in certain situations and distract our attention from important things.

In my view, when you are with a friend, for example, speaking and catching up you shouldn’t answer your phone if it rings because that interrupts the conversation and it’s very exasperating for a person talk with someone that doesn’t listen. It is disrespectful.

Because mobile phones allow us to be connected with the world all day, we become addicted to all advantages they provide and little by little we are depending on these devices, making us forget that real life is out there and you have to live it. We become less and less sociable.

All in all, mobile phones are great tools to make life easier, provided they don’t substitute real life. It is about knowing when to use your mobile phone and when to stop using it. It is about selfcontrol.

First year students should stay in university halls rather than share a flat._F

The majority of the first year students always have a dilemma: whether to share a flat or go to a univeristy hall? In my opinion, to share a flat can be a temptation, but it's better to go to a  university hall.

Firstly, even thought  to share a flat with other students, means having many duties, for example, cook or clean the clothes. However, in a hall there are people who do all these things. Moreover, a hall is more private than a flat. What's more, in a hall, normally, you have a timetable that you have to respect, even so, in a flat, people tend to be more disorganized. As a result, they study less and have worse marks.

To conclude, during your first year at university ,it is better to go to a university hall than to share a flat, but this is only my opinion.
