Do we know what getting a tattoo or piercing means?

Nowadays it is common to have a tattoo or a piercing. Almost as common as having a cell phone, and most often, it's just as expensive! Now, we all know there are many arguments about tattoos and piercings, both for and against them. Tattoos and piercings have most definitly become more and more popular as the years progress, as more youth and young adults are trying to find themselves.

On one hand, they tend to give teens a sense of individuality and often symbolize something important in their lives. It also expresses their artistic sides.

On the other hand, getting tattoos or piercings includes many unnecessary hazards such as excessive bleeding, infections... if someone wanted to take away a tattoo, it would be very dangerous and also very expensive.

To sum up, the decision to wear a tattoo or piercing is individual but teeneagers have to be warned about the possible consequences in the future.

Are we responsible enough?

Nowadays is not unusual to have a tattoo or see someone full of them. Young children have grown up surrounded by tattoos and it is not strange that at fourteen or fifteen they want one without taking into account the consequences.

The final decision, in the case of an underage, is his parents' and it depends on their responsibility and preferences. If somebody has lots of tattoos it is more probable that his son has a tattoo earlier than other that are against body painting. Moreover, children have more compulsive ideas. If their parents do not allow them, they will want to do it secretly. If they do it in that way, it's more probable that they  won't go to a specialized place, which means that there is less safety and it is more likely to have some illness like tetanus.

To conclude, people should think more about their acts and children shouldn't have this responsibility until they are 18. The Law should be more strict and shouldn't allow children to have tattoos done without their parents' permission.

Are online opinions important?

Nowadays it seems that people's opinions online are really important but, are opinions actually important? Should we value more some specific person's opinion?

First of all, we have to think that most people's opinions are based on what they think without knowing the person they're judging. Moreover, anyone can say whatever he or she wants, and maybe this could be a problem, because a graduate person's opinion will have the same weight as an uneducated one's.
Furthermore, taking into account only one person's opinon may be a mistake because it's always better to have different opinions to contrast to make our own conclusions.

To sum up, I think opinions should be important but with limits, you must have your own opinion. In conclusion, I think trusting only one person's opinion is a mistake and even more if it's an online opinion.

Tattoos

Tattoos are a trend in the teenage years or in the twenties. A lot of people decide  that they want one without thinking of  the impact.

In my opinion, a tattoo should not have to determine the future of a person. The problem is that we live in a society that cares too much about appearances
. Some people associate tattoos with dangerous people, because it's a normal topic. This person maybe is a friendly shopkeeper  whose tattoo is in memory of his grandparents. The reality is that this problem exists and affects  the  possibility of having a job. I don't care if a person has a tattoo or not , it's his own body and they can do what they  want, and it doesn't affect his character.

To sum up, I don't think that having a tattoo is relevant to a job, but some others think that it is. They are free to  wear  a tattoo, but they must think of
the impact that it will have in their lives before doing it.

Why parents don't like piercings or tattoos?_F

Nowadays, there are a lot of teenagers with piercings. Usually they like to have a piercing on the lips, tongues, or ears and the majority of parents don't like it and the same happens with tattoos. But should parents let their children get a piercing or tattoo if they were not 18 yet?

Some people like this body decoration but some don't, so everyone is free to choose if they want to have piercings or tattoos, or not, despite their age. But the problem is that
sometimes these teenagers, who like this body decoration, don't know and they aren't
aware about their risks. For example, piercings can cause infections, scars, etc. For this
reason parents don't allow their children to have body decorations.

At the same time, we can see some people who think that the parents have the obligation toban these type of decorations while their children are minors. For this reason, there are a lot of families who have problems and arguments because they don't agree.

As we see, the relationships between the children and the parents are difficult because
teenagers think differently because of bad influences.

What are your views on tattoos?_F

These days having tattoos is a tipical thing  among people, and it is taking, increasingly more and more importance in society.

On the one hand, there are many reasons why people, and teenagers more often, decide to get a tattoo. For instance, if you are in love with somebody, or you love doing an activity, you would want to keep it, tattooing it on your skin.

On the other hand, in many jobs, you aren't allowed to have visible tattoos. Therefore, if you have some , they wouldn't want to have you in their job, and you would have to remove it. Moreover, when you get rid of a tattoo, because then you hate what you loved being a teenager, and you want to remove it, it can be very expensive.

To sum up, I reckon that having a visible tattoo isn't a right thing to have, because you don't know how your life will change. Deffinitely, having a visible tattoo doesn't say anything about an individual that is relevant to his her job.

Tattos and piercings are only a fashion_F

In the last few years, tattos and piercings have become a  profitable business and this is because of a new  trend. But are they good or not?

On the one hand, some people believe that they're good because they could be considered a traditional art in other cultures. Secondly, young people use them to integrate in some social groups. Finally, it could be considered as a personal emblem too.

On the other hand, the majority will regret having one when they become older. Also, they could be harmful to your skin or your body (even pen ink is harmful). Finally, they have some medical problems, for example if you have a tattoo on your lower back, you cannot recive certain kinds of anesthetic.

To sum up, I think tattos and piercings are a momentary fashion and you shouldn't follow it.

To have or not to have piercings and tattoos, that is the question

Nowadays, there are a lot of people who want to get a tatoo or a piercing but is this only a temporary fad or on the contrary is it a way to express your personality?

On the one hand, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, piercings can cause you infections due to hemorrhages for instance. Secondly, to remove tatoos can be more expensive and painful than the fact of getting  one. Last but not least, if you have some polemic tattoos, this fact can prevent you from getting a job.

On the other hand, there are some advantages too. Firstly, to have  a tattoo can be a way to express your personality. Secondly, tattoos are art and we have to value them as such. Finally, to get  a piercing may be a cool thing in the society which we are living in.

To sum up, I am in favour of tattoos and piercings although these should be done by professionals and besides you have to be very sure if you want one.

Are opinions important?_C3

We live in a society where we can explain our opinions without difficulty. Few years ago there wasn't freedom of expression and people couldn’t say what they thought.

In my opinion, opinions are very important because listening to other points of view lets us know more about different things and you can take decisions with more security. As we know children are influenced by their parents and for this reason they should listen to other people to know what they think and if these opinions are good or not for you. I love asking old people about their experiences, because I think that with years you learn to do better and avoid mistakes. It’s interesting to  listen to these people to avoid making the same mistakes. I think that old people can advise very well.

Finally I'd say that all opinions are important and people should listen to all points of view and all the people can say what they think.

Body piercing is extremely dangerous and ought to be banned

Nowadays, there are some problems concerning  piercings  because there are people who think it is good but others believe  it is bad. This problem is increasing because  piercings are now fashionable, but scientists say that piercings are very bad for our body and they should be banned.

On the
one hand, when you take out a piercing, you have a mark left for ever. It is clear that, the action of piercing our body is unnatural because If our body doesn't have  any piercings  it  is because we don't need them.

On the other hand, people have
piercings to express their feelings. They can also symbolize one moment or one person that  is important in their life. In addition, If you have a piercing, some people believe you can reach one point of the chakra and it can help the physical state or mood.

In conclusion. I think piercings are a good thing and shouldn't be banned because with them
you can express your feelings and thoughts . Also piercings can symbolize a culture or the tradition of ancientvillages. Although there are people who  don't like them, piercings are a tradition of ancient peoples and cultures that have lasted to this day, so it must be important for something.

TATTOO, YES OR NO?

Nowadays having tattoos done has become a popular activity. From my point of view, when we do that we neither realise that we might want to have them removed or that they can cause not only health problems but also at the workplace.

Firstly, it is said that doctors have never had as many patients as now to remove tattoos. In many cases, people realize that these tattoos were childhood madness and they don’t want them anymore. The only thing they can do to solve that is to remove them with surgery.

Secondly, many people have had problems to get a job because of their tattoos. They are part of our appearance and many businessmen or women don’t like to have a worker with tattoos. For example, there was a woman who had a brilliant employment record but also many tattoos and she had to remove them, just to get a job.

To sum up, before having a tattoo done, think about it. I believe they can be nice; nevertheless they can cause problems, because they are part of us.

IF YOU WERE A STUDENT, WHAT YOU PREFER?

In the last few decades, schools and universities have suggested two types of evaluation: continuous assessment or final exams. Currently, this topic is causing a debate, but I strongly believe that continuous assessment is much better.

On the one hand, the students who support the former claim to have lots of advantages. Firstly, they think that teachers evaluate more things than only exams; such as the behavior, daily work and constant assistance. Another reason is that there are different exams and you don’t risk everything in one exam. Furthermore, it’s obvious that there are fewer lessons.

On the other hand, the opponents prefer to do a final exam. The main disadvantage of continuous assessment is that you can’t either organize your timetable or choose your best technic to study. In addition, you are stressed all the term because you are constantly being examined.

All in all, I’m convinced that continuous assessment can help you to improve because clearly you are in touch with your tutor and he can correct your mistakes, making it easy for you to pass the evaluation.

Final tests; the best option to help high school students to improve their results

Final tests are nowadays the most chosen option in high school, but their more frequent use doesn't make them better, what's more, this system sometimes makes the students get confused and not work efficiently.

It is said that final tests are better than continuous assessment because the student focuses his effort in a short period of time instead of  studying during the whole assessment. For this reason, my opinion about this topic is that obviously final tests are better than continuous assessment because, as I said,
the latter allow the student to have more free time during the assessment, and this is exactly what high school students need. Consequently, after this short period of hard studying, students have time to enjoy their adolescence and in addition, the results are better than in the continuous assessment because the pressure is bigger and this motivates them to get as high marks as they are able to.

To conclude , we should remember
that it is necessary to take everything into account to help to improve students' results, and the option of giving them more free time is the best option because they need  to relax from time to time to be able to study and focus all their effort in a short period of time.

Continuous assessment versus final tests

Nowadays in most universities and high schools continuous assessment and final tests are one of the most used methods of evaluation. Both continuous assessment and final exams have advantages but personally I think that final exams are a less reliable assessment than continuous tests.

On the one hand, continuous assessment is a good way for students to improve their marks along the course, and it is also a good method for teachers to evaluate the students’ work and improvement. That kind of assessment decreases the pupils’ pressure, which doesn’t happen with final exams.

On the other hand, continuous tests imply a larger number of exams than final ones, and what’s more, the content increases in each exam so you have to improve the last content and work hard on the new one. Nevertheless, you don’t don't risk everything in one exam but all the exams that you do along course are evaluated. Last but not least, final tests involve that students don’t work the entire
course only they do it during the last week before the exam and that’s not good for them.

For all aforementioned reasons, I agree with continuous exams as a method of assessment because it allows teachers
to have a global view of each student on the subject and let students learn better.

Body decoration

Nowadays, body decoration is in fashion, but it has become a controversial issue. People who wear it think that it is normal for everyone, but a part of the society is completely against.

On the one hand, people who are in favour of body decoration say that everyone is free to choose what they wear, Furthermore, tattoo and piercing shops are obviously defending this type of decoration because these things allow them to make profit / make money every month.
On the other hand, we can find people who are against piercings and tattos, Firstly, the companies don't accept people who wear these type of things because they don't give a good impression. Moreover, some people think that body decoration is very dangerous for your health and they want to ban it.

In my opinion, I don't think that body decoration should be banned because all people can choose
what to wear, but I'm also conscious that you must think if they will help you in the future, or they will shut some laboral doors.

The decision of getting a tattoo

Continuous assessment versus final tests_F

Nowadays we can distinguish two ways to perform the exams at school, continuous assessment or a final test. These two ways to put all your eggs in one basket are discussed by students.

On the one hand, Some students prefer to do exams continually, and therefore the syllabus isn't accumulated. Furthermore, continuous assessment helps students to be up to date with the subjects. But also, final exams have good things, allowing students to study for more time and focus on one exam for each subject.

On the other hand, other students think that continuous assessment doesn't benefit them, because it is better to perform a single test. Just like that, other students prefer to  take more
than one exam, because they think that with one exam are risk everything because you can just have a bad day and lose all the work.

In conclusion, I think that the continuous assessment is the best opcion, as it prepares students and forces them to be up to date and study all subjects, and thus not leave everything to the last day.
