Do we know what getting a tattoo or piercing means?

Nowadays it is common to have a tattoo or a piercing. Almost as common as having a cell phone, and most often, it's just as expensive! Now, we all know there are many arguments about tattoos and piercings, both for and against them. Tattoos and piercings have most definitly become more and more popular as the years progress, as more youth and young adults are trying to find themselves.

On one hand, they tend to give teens a sense of individuality and often symbolize something important in their lives. It also expresses their artistic sides.

On the other hand, getting tattoos or piercings includes many unnecessary hazards such as excessive bleeding, infections... if someone wanted to take away a tattoo, it would be very dangerous and also very expensive.

To sum up, the decision to wear a tattoo or piercing is individual but teeneagers have to be warned about the possible consequences in the future.

  2. I agree with Jamal in everything that he has explained about the risks of getting tattoos or piercings; however I don't agree with him relating to the first idea. I think nowadays it is very common to wear a tattoo or piercing and what's more, young people get a tattoo without thinking about the consequences, only of getting are.
It is also true that this fad is like a symbol of personality, but from my point of view there are a lot of things with no risk that can be a personaly mark. So that kind of body decoration is not healthy.
