Modern society encourages consumerism making us buy things we don’t need.

I’m convinced that we all buy a lot of things we don’t need, things that make us spend too much money. The companies want to sell and we make them rich with our ambition, although there are others that are conscious of this problem.

First of all, we can be confused because of the big variety of products that we are offered, so most people buy something wrong, something they don’t need; furthermore we have the way to buy products, which is facilitated by the internet or the little markets around us.

Secondly, it’s important to highlight the competence between companies, they work a lot to become popular mainly using adverts on TV, that influence us, therefore we’re manipulated.

And if it that was not enough, people are becoming increasingly ambitious, we want to have everything and the business take advantage of it… Consequently more and more people are warned about this and therefore control their purchases.

To close this topic I’d like to say that our life is becoming more complex over the years, so that implies having more things under control.

To finish, my reflection is that we should ask ourselves before buy something if it’s completely necessary having it; we could save a lot of money!
