Traditionally, parents smacked children when they had a bad behaviour. Nowadays some parents continue with this mindset but the majority uses other ways to teach good manners to the children.
As I see it, smacking must be banned for different reasons. Firstly, although some people say that smacking is a good way to teach good manners, no experts believe children need physical punishment for getting a good behaviour. On the other hand, I think smacking can cause physical damage as well as psychological. Moreover smacked children are usually more violent and aggressive because if they can be smacked why can’t they smack to other children? As far as I’m concerned discipline takes time and effort, so many parents think that a good smack is a quick and easy method. However , in my opinion However, in my opinion, the best way to have a good child is living in a loving environment, where their parents take care of them.
In conclusion, independently of the reason why parents smack, it is always harmful for children so there are other ways to educate them.
