Years ago,smacking children was accepted in society. However, nowadays these violent acts are totally banned. Certain organisations in favor of children's rights think that the government is regulating smacking children correctly.
Otherwise, some groups of usually old and more conservative people have the idea that if the children aren't smacked they won't be obedient and disciplined. On the other hand these groups in favour of children think that there are other ways to educate children the right way.
These organisations are asking if smacking is really the best way to make children disciplined or if there are other ways that don'tinclude violence. They defend the use of the word but this can be negative for kids that can be humiliated and have several important psychological problems in the future.
As far as I am concerned, smacking children has to be prohibited but the way to make kids obedient and disciplined has to change because of the psychological problems that can be caused by the humiliation from parents.
