Regarding television series, you could say that I am an absolute fan, they are a means of entertainment, which can also be used to learn by giving them good use.
Firstly, one of the reasons why I usually watch series in English is to learn English,the most popular series are originally in English , and watching them in original version you get to learn , the only detail against ithem is that at first you have to use subtitles and it is a bit more difficult to follow the series, but which you eventually begin to understand and do much better.
In conclusion, I want to say that TV series, and even more if you see them in original version, only bring benefits such as entertainment and learning.
